BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat is a leader of the Nepali Congress Party.
With close to four decades of experience in the political arena, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has served nation holding various key ministerial portfolios including Foreign Affairs, Energy.
He had his time as a member in National Planning Commission. His vision, to build an inclusive society, is based on the ideals of social and economic freedom, equality, diversity and justice. He has pledged to make Nepal a country where equal opportunity is accessible to all and has made great strides towards achieving this objective over the course of his career.
JOURNEY
On Feb 7, 2022, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat was appointed as Nepali Congress Spokesperson by Party Chairman Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba.
On Jan 1, 2022, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has nominated Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat and 9 more leaders as members of the Central Working Committee.
On May 4, 2016, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat was appointed as Nepali Congress Co-General Secratary by Party Chairman Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba.
On March 7, 2016, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat was elected as Nepali Congress Central Committee Member. He received 1,491 delegates votes.

Elected as Constituent Assembly Member
Second Constituent Assembly elections were held in Nepal on 19 November 2013. Among 91 seats allotted by proportional representation for Nepali Congress, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat was one of the elected member.
Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, an NC Central Committee member, joined the cabinet on June 4 and was appointed Minister of Energy on June 17. Mahat was nominated to the Constituent Assembly under the proportional representation system in April 2008.
KATHMANDU
