Foreign Minister Dr. Mahat calls on Luxemburg Prime Minister
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, who is on a visit to Europe, has called on the Prime Minister and two other ministers of Luxemburg on Thursday.
In a meeting with Luxemburg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel at the latter’s office, Foreign Minister Dr. Mahat urged him to include Nepal in the priority list of international cooperation being provided by Luxemburg, informed Foreign Minister’s Public Relations and Press the Coordinator, Yek Raj Pathak.
After the plea, Prime Minister Bettel assured Dr. Mahat of initiating the process for the same from the Embassy of Luxemburg in New Delhi and Nepal’s Embassy in Belgium.
It may be noted that Luxemburg so far has been providing support to Nepal mainly in education and health through the European Union and various international cooperation agencies.
Extending special thanks to the Luxemburg Prime Minister for this, Foreign Minister Dr. Mahat also asked for further assistance mainly in the areas of infrastructure development, skills development, and reconstruction.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Bettel pledged to continue the cooperation being extended to Nepal and expressed positive gesture to expand the areas of assistance in coming days.
Minister Dr. Mahat also called on bilateral meetings with Luxemburg’s Foreign Affairs Minister Jean Asselborn and International Development Minister on Thursday. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Dr. Mahat urged the Ministers to expand the areas for investment and cooperation for the wider development of Nepal.
Minister Dr. Mahat travelled to Luxemburg from Belgium.
