Nepali Congress General Convention to be held in Kathmandu, September 1 to 4
The 14th Central General Convention of the Nepali Congress is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from September 1 to 4. A meeting of the Congress Central Working Committee held on Friday approved the date of the convention. The recommendation of the meeting of office bearers has been approved by the Central Committee.
The meeting decided to hold village / municipal ward convention on July 27, village / municipality convention on July 31, provincial assembly regional convention on Aug 3, regional convention on the House of Representatives / district convention with only one constituency on Aug 10, districts with more than one constituency. It has been decided to hold the convention on Aug 10 and the provincial convention on Aug 15 and 16.
Active Membership for the General Convention The deadline for submitting the final list of new and renewed memberships to the Central Chairperson has been fixed till July 4.
Similarly, the list of active members will be signed by the Central Chairman and submitted to the Central Election Committee on July 14.
The meeting has decided to support the formation of a government led by Sher Bahadur Deuba and to strengthen the political consensus against the unconstitutional decision of the Prime Minister Oli. At the same time, the Congress has also expressed its commitment to move forward with the same views among the political parties in defense of the constitution and democracy.
