Nepali Congress will form government under its own leadership
Joint General-Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, has said that the decision of the Netra Bikram Chand-led group to follow the peaceful path after giving up arms is positive.
Talking to media persons here today, leader Mahat argued that the agreement signed between the government and Chand-led group is positive.
He shared, “It is good to join the mainstream politics and the peaceful path. We do not yet know what is in the agreement.”
On a different note, Mahat said that the NC would go into government under its leadership if need be, saying the NC would make its concept clear once the parliament meeting takes place.
He added, “The NC will go into government under its leadership if a situation surfaces where a government cannot be formed without NC’s presence.”
The NC leader Mahat, however, clarified that they will go into government only if there would be a need for the NC.
He opined that it is not the right time for NC to make such concept as the Nepal Communist party (NCP) has not split formally.
